Hunan delegation expresses interest in joint ventures
Seeks collaboration in multiple areas including fish and rice trade
ISLAMABAD:
Pakistani companies should focus on promoting cooperation in multiple areas with their counterparts in Hunan province of China, emphasised China Council for Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Vice President Wu Dengguo.
RCCI concerned over rupee’s free fall
He was speaking at the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) on Thursday while leading a delegation of Hunan province. The delegation voiced keen interest in exploring opportunities of joint ventures and investment in Pakistan.
Wu pointed out that the purpose of the visit was to explore business prospects in Pakistan and scout for areas that offered good opportunities of collaboration between the two sides.
“Hunan has a population of 70 million and is a big market for Pakistani products,” he said. “It is famous for fish, rice, manufacturing of super computers, construction machinery, maritime and energy equipment, automobile and parts; Pakistani companies should focus on collaboration in these fields.”
Hunan Federation of Industry and Commerce Vice Chairman Yang Guan Glin highlighted that some Hunan companies already had a presence in Pakistan and more were interested in joint ventures and investment.
FBR taking measures to build trust
“Issues like lack of information about trade laws and regulations of both countries should be addressed to promote bilateral trade and economic relations up to the real potential,” he said.
