Mengal says no compromise on province’s resources
'Will deal harshly with PTI if it continues to bypass BNP-M in decisions’
QUETTA:
President of Balochistan National Party-Mengal (BNPM) Sardar Akthar Jan Mengal has said that no one will be allowed to sell the province’s natural resources.
Addressing by-election rallies in Wadh area of Khuzdar district on Monday, Mengal said his party would deal “harshly with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government if it continues to bypass them in the decisions related to the future of the province”.
With regard to the BNPM’s coalition with the PTI at the Centre, Mengal said his party could not compromise on the province’s due share in the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and other development projects.
“We cannot break the trust of people in us, which they displayed during the general elections,” he said, adding that his party was elected to protect the resources from further exploitation.
Mengal said the BNP-M and the Jamiat Ulema-e-IslamFazl (JUI-F) had defended the rights of the people. He urged the people to come out of their homes and vote for the BNP-M’s candidate.
“No one can force us to withdraw our demands for the rights of the deprived people of the province,” he added. The BNP-M had intensified its election campaign ahead of the by-election in PB-40 Khuzdar.
