In pictures: Inside Manish Malhotra's star-studded Doha showcase
Stars including Aishwarya Rai, Sadaf Kanwal, Hamza Ali Abbasi and others came together under one roof
Stars from India and Pakistan came together for ace Bollywood designer Manish Malhotra's star-studded showcase.
Former Miss World Aishwarya Rai Bachchan walked the ramp as the showstopper for Fashion Weekend International 2018 in Doha, Qatar. Pakistani artist Nabila served as the official hair and makeup stylist for the show.
But, what surprised us is when we saw Sadaf Kanwal walk down the aisle in a beautiful ice-blue ensemble by the designer.
However, it wasn't only Sadaf who was present at the show. Model Hasnain Lehri was also spotted alongside Hamza Ali Abbasi, dressed in a suave white suit and sleek black sherwani respectively. Adnan Sami's son, Azaan Ali Khan was also in attendance.
Ash looked ethereal in a magnificent pearl white and red gown. She carried the outfit with elegance featuring intricate detailing, embroidery, dewy makeup, an unconventional hairdo and minimal accessories.
"Aishwarya is not only a dear friend but has also been my design muse for many years now. Having worked with her in various films, runway shows and red carpet appearances, it has always been a pleasure, given her strong work ethic," Manish said earlier.
The management company for the event, FAB Entertainment’s CEO, Fauzia Vohra said in a statement, “Fashion Weekend International will be a weekend of many firsts, with this event launching globally in Qatar, with a destination focus, showcasing Manish Malhotra and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan for the first time together internationally in collaboration with NABILA and Zero Make Up, making it an unmissable event on fashion calendars around the world.”
The beauty queen was last seen in Fanney Khan with Anil Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao. The film failed to do well at the box office. She will now be seen with husband Abhishek Bachchan in a new movie, Gulab Jamun.
Talking about how working with his wife is always special, Abhishek said, “Gulab Jamun is a sweet film and it’s always a pleasure to work with the missus. Every time we’ve done a film together, it’s been special.”
