She expressed these views while speaking as chief guest at an international medical conference held at College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP). CPSP President Professor Zafferullah chaired the conference. Delegations from China, Turkey, Canada, Nepal and Sri Lanka participated in the conference. King Edward Medical University Vice Chancellor Professor Khalid Masood Gondal presented the welcome address.

“Improvement in the health sector is my mission,” pledged the minister. While acknowledging the services rendered by CPSP, she also recalled her memories when she was a fellow of the same college.

“CPSP has gained international goodwill thanks to its quality education and this college was a blessing for those Pakistani doctors who were looking for specialisation in certain fields,” she said.

Dr Yasmin Rashid also admired the fact that CPSP has extended an offer to conduct free-of-cost training sessions for all public sector consultants in Punjab.

Professor Zafferullah, in his address, shed light on the achievements of CPSP during the last 60 years. He also presented the health minister with a shield of honour.
