Boxing: Froch faces Johnson for final berth

Britain’s Carl Froch defends his World Boxing Council super middleweight crown against Jamaican-born Glen Johnson today with a chance at a unification showdown also at stake. After more than two years, the Super Six World Boxing Classic is on the verge of setting up a championship bout, with Froch or Johnson to face unbeaten US star Andre Ward, the World Boxing Association champion, in the final. Froch, 27-1 with 20 knockouts, comes off a 12-round unanimous decision victory over Germany’s Arthur Abraham last November.
