Mauritian High Commissioner tells Pakistan Federal Secretary for Information and Broadcasting in a meeting

Mauritius and Pakistan on Wednesday discussed cooperation in field of television dramas and serials.

Dramas of Pakistan Television Corporation (PTVC) are very popular in South Asian people living in Mauritius, said the Mauritian High Commissioner Soobadar Rashidally who called on Federal Secretary for Information and Broadcasting Sardar Ahmad Nawaz Sukhera.

During the meeting the high commissioner discussed the prospects of cooperation in the field of media and communication.

Pakistan, Mauritius to review trade barriers

He stressed upon the need for strengthening cooperation between the Mauritius Broadcasting Cooperation (MBC) and PTVC.

He informed that there is a reasonable population of people who understand Urdu in Mauritius and they are very fond of dramas and programmes of PTVC.

He requested for provision of popular PTV dramas and programmes for broadcasting in Mauritius.

The secretary appreciated the keen interest of the high commissioner and public of Mauritius in the broadcasts of PTVC and he said that it provides a great window of opportunity between the state TV channels of both the countries. He assured complete cooperation of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting in this regard.
