KARACHI: Sindh Health and Population Welfare Minister Dr Azra Fazal Pechuho has said that Lady Health Workers (LHWs) should be given proper training to help them deliver their services in a more effective manner. Presiding over a meeting on Wednesday, she called for corrective measures to be adopted in Tharparkar for improvement in the health of new-born children and their safe delivery.
Sindh LHW Programme Director Dr Gul Shaikh, Renuka Swem of United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and others attended the meeting.
Earlier, Pechuho chaired a meeting on safe drinking water and the chlorination of water in Karachi and Hyderabad. She said that pure and safe drinking water is the fundamental right of every citizen. Contaminated water is the main cause of various diseases, she added.
