Several users then took also took to Twitter and Apple’s official discussion forum to complain about this issue with the device's battery.

Apple mulls naming new model 'iPhone XS MAX'
The issue is some iPhone XS and XS Max models do not automatically start charging when plugged in, some require you to wake up to start charging. Some iPhones start charging when moved and some do not start charging even when woken up.
Apple is reportedly addressing the charging issue in the upcoming iOS 12.1 update with Beta versions already solving the problem.
Today’s iOS 12.1 beta includes a fix for the charging issue some people were experiencing with iPhone and iPad.
With it, no more delay or uncertainty about charging. You’ll be back to just plugging it in and getting power.
(Pretty much what I said in my video yesterday.)
For now, though, the issue hasn't caused any major concerns like the Note 7 recall but any bad press will cause worries for Apple, especially given the hefty price tag.
