Opposition leader in the Punjab Assembly and PML-N leader Hamza Shehbaz Sharif dismissed claims of an 'underhand deal' being reached between the establishment and the party as he commented on the controversial statement by party leader Rana Mashhood.

Mashhood alleged that an ‘understanding’ had been reached between the party and the establishment in the run-up to the general elections.

PML-N leader stirs ‘deal’ controversy

"Everything will be decided in a transparent manner. There will be no underhand deals," said Hamza while addressing the media and added that PML-N will continue to play the role of a strong opposition.

Continuing his criticism of the ruling party, the PML-N leader said those who formed the government on a stolen mandate will be exposed soon.

"PML-N respects democracy," said Hamza when asked if the party would again form a government in Punjab and added that the party has presented its stance on Mashhood's statement.

Shehbaz has taken notice of Mashhood's 'deal' claim: Nawaz

Taking a jibe at the PTI government, Hamza said "opening the governor house for the public and converting the prime minister house into a library  does not solve the issues faced by 220 million people."

"Nawaz respected the National Accountability Bureu (NAB) court's verdict and left his ailing wife to return to the country with his daughter, and went to jail." the Punjab assembly opposition leader stated referring to his uncle.

Mashhood earlier said the party has always “respected state institutions” as he backtracked from his earlier statement.

The under-fire PML-N leader had further said he did not mention any ‘deal’ in the news show and remained adamant that his words were misinterpreted and twisted.
