Denuded Embassy Road: Tree cutting banned in capital
Government will not allow any kind of tree cutting in the future, warns Climate change minister
ISLAMABAD:
The Advisor to the Prime Minister on Climate Change Amin Aslam on Tuesday announced a complete ban on felling trees in the federal capital to protect the environment of the city. Talking to media during his visit to a tree plantation site along Embassy Road, he lamented that more than 197 trees were chopped down by the previous government only along the Embassy Road for a road extension project. However, he said that the incumbent Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government will not allow any kind of tree cutting in the future and imposed the ban.
