PSCA launches crackdown over misuse of accessories

PSCA has warned all unauthorised users to restrict and dismount illegal instruments and devices

LAHORE: Advancing another regulatory measure for its traffic management system, the Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) announced a crackdown on unauthorised uses of privileged accessories such as emergency sirens and special lights including flashers and blind eyes.

The PSCA has warned all the unauthorised users of the above amenities to restrict and dismount illegal instruments and devices at once to avoid challan initially. The authority also warned that vehicles of non-starters would be impounded ultimately. The spokesman said the PSCA's vigilant eyes would scour highways across the metropolis to spot all such lawbreakers and the same would be taken to task. He said the PSCA would remain lawfully ruthless in apprehending all unwise elements that change otherwise a pleasant drive into a life-threatening experience.

Earlier, the PSCA had announced the formal launch of e-challaning. Under the system, CCTV cameras would capture traffic violations and the same would be dispatched to the address of the offenders.
