Workshop: Social impact monitoring

Three-day workshop on social impact monitoring was held at Strengthening Participatory Organization national centre.



A three-day workshop on social impact monitoring was held at Strengthening Participatory Organization (SPO) national centre on Thursday.



The workshop was attended by social development experts, government officials and the World Bank-funded social impact monitoring project  team comprising of 12 specialists, said as press release issued by the SPO here on Thursday.

As part of a series of consultations required in this project, National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) Chairperson Zafar Qadir and Joint Secretary Saleem Ranjha provided valuable inputs and assured their maximum support for implementing the project.

Talking about the objectives of the project, SPO Chief Executive Naseer Memon said that it aims at customising World Bank’s globally tested social impact monitoring tools in the context of Pakistan. He said that the project would assess the impact of 2010 floods on social cohesion, governance, environment and the livelihoods of people in the two worst-hit districts of Pakistan.
