LAHORE:

The government wants to give special attention to tourism in order to earn more revenue and foreign exchange, said Punjab Minister for Tourism Raja Yasir Hamayun Sarfraz.

The minister expressed these views while speaking at a ceremony marking World Tourism Day on Thursday. The country has a great potential for tourism, he added.

Tourism and Digital Transformation is this year’s theme. Since 1980, the United Nations World Tourism Organization has celebrated World Tourism Day on September 27.

World Tourism Day is a unique opportunity to raise awareness on tourism’s potential contribution towards sustainable development.

This year’s World Tourism Day (WTD) will help put the opportunities provided to tourism on the sustainable development map.
