A district and sessions court on Wednesday rejected the bail application of Hazara Democratic Party (HDP) MPA Ahmed Ali Khozad in a murder case and ordered his arrest from the court premises.
Following the court order, Khozad was arrested and shifted to the CIA Centre for further investigation into the murder of Muhammad Hafeez, a goldsmith whose body was found from a building in Marriabad. The building is owned by Kohzad.
The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) had blocked Khozad’s national identity card on the suspicion that he is an Afghan national. The case is pending before the interior ministry.
Khozad was elected as MPA from Quetta’s Hazara Town in the July 25 elections. The Election Commission of Pakistan had halted the notification of his victory after the Balochistan High Court had ordered the home department to investigate his case.
