
Thousands of books were sold at the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) first annual book fair, which concluded on Thursday.
Students from the UVAS, College of Veterinary Science in Jhang and officials from the Livestock and Dairy Development Department visited the fair, where books on animal husbandry, animal food nutrition, pathology, microbiology, pharmacy, animal genetics, and animal reproduction were for sale.
Prof Nasim Ahmad, dean of the faculty of veterinary science, said at the closing ceremony that reading books fostered innovation, creativity and leadership. He said that students who were under a lot of stress because they had to prepare various assignments and presentations should look at self-help books that would help them overcome any deficiencies in this regard. Dr Aneel Zameer Durrani, director of the Institute of Continuing Education and Extension, also spoke at the event.
