Preparation: ‘Rescue 1122 prepared for floods’ (Lahore city)
A control room will be made operational round-the-clock
BAHAWALPUR:
Rescue 1122 Bahawalpur Region is fully prepared regarding the current flooding threat from River Sutlej. Divisional Emergency Officer Malik Asif Rahim Channar expressed these remarks which checking flood arrangements at the Bahawalpur Divisional Headquarters.
He reviewed all the equipment including modern water boats, life jackets, life buoys and scuba equipment. Operation administration and control room staff were also present during this time.
Channar also directed station in charges throughout the district to thoroughly check their respective equipment and to issue fitness certificates. He also ordered that a water rescue team, which can reach the scene within a few minutes, be maintained during each shift. He also directed that water rescue exercises be carried out at Shashmahi Canal and Hasilpur Canal. In addition to this, the control room will be made operational round-the-clock.
