Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Tamil Nadu president Tamilisai Soundarajan said on Monday she had nominated Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the Nobel Peace Prize The Indian Express reported.

In a statement, she said she had nominated Modi for launching the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana- Ayushman Bharat -- the "world's-largest health scheme".
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been nominated for Nobel Peace Prize 2019 for launching the world’s largest healthcare scheme Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana- Ayushman Bharat by Tamilisai Soundararajan. The “path-breaking initiative” of the “visionary” prime minister will transform lives of millions of people, especially the underprivileged and vulnerable, the statement read.
“The last date for Nomination for Nobel Peace Prize 2019 is January 31, 2019. The nomination processes start in September each year."
