Speaking of his split from the Friends star, Theroux said, "The good news is that it was the most gentle separation. There was no animosity. Neither of us is dead or throwing hatchets at each other."
The 47-year-old actor added, "It's amicable. We respected each other enough that it was as painless as it could be." Theroux continued that it was "heartbreaking" but only because their friendship wouldn't be the same as it was earlier.
At another interview recently, Aniston also spoke about the breakup. She stated, "The misconceptions are, 'Jen can't keep a man,' and 'she refuses to have a baby because she's selfish and committed to her career,' or that I'm sad and heartbroken."
However, the Wanderlust actor explained, "First of all, with all due respect, I am not heartbroken. And second, those are reckless assumptions."
