Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Marriyum Aurangzeb on Saturday denied that Nawaz Sharif had been consulting party's leadership ever since his release from Adiala Jail, Express News reported.

The PML-N leader, while speaking to the media in the federal capital said, "news has been circulating that he [Nawaz] has been holding party meetings, but it is completely baseless."

"Those who are spreading these rumours must respect Sharif family's privacy at this time of grief," she added.

The former information minister further that the PML-N would apprise the media if such meetings do take place.

Sharifs’ release: A boon for PML-N

Earlier on September 20, Nawaz, his daughter Maryam Nawaz and son-in-law Capt (retd) Safdar were released from Adiala jail after a court suspended their sentences.

They were sentenced back in July after being found guilty of corrupt practices relating to the ownership of four luxury properties in central London.

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) suspended the 10-year jail term of the three-time premier after he spent 69 days behind bars.

The IHC division bench comprising Justice Athar Minallah and Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb had allowed the petitions of the Sharif family members against the accountability court's July 6 judgment in the Avenfield apartments reference.
