Football Carrick withdraws from Euro squad

The 29-year-old has withdrawn due to injury. Picked up a knock in the Champions League final.

Michael Carrick has withdrawn from the England squad for the Euro 2012 qualifier against Switzerland with an injury. The 29-year-old picked up a knock in the Champions League final. England were already without injured striker Jermain Defoe and goal-keeper David Stockdale for Saturday’s Group G qualifier at Wembley Stadium. Striker Wayne Rooney will miss the game through suspension.
