Wiki Loves Monuments competition underway in Pakistan
The contest is open to 65 countries globally, including Pakistan
Wiki Loves Monuments (WLM) 2018 competition is now accepting submissions. The contest is open to 65 countries around the world, including Pakistan. According to Guinness World Records WLM is officially the biggest photography competition in the world.
Since its inception, the competition has expanded to over 85 countries and has documented around two million monuments with submissions from over 70,000 participants.
The competition aims to document global cultural heritage sites under a copyright free license. The photographs can then be re-used for any purpose with credit given to the photographer. The competition is meant to improve visual representation in Wikipedia articles about culturally and historically significant spaces.

Pakistan became a part of the WLM in 2014. Participating in Wiki Loves Monuments Pakistan is really easy and straightforward. All you need to do is register an account on Wikipedia, and submit your entries.
Participants can use Wikipedia's list of Pakistani heritage sites to find subjects to photograph. The winners of the competition can get a chance to visit the Wikipedia Conference in Sweden in August 2019.
The campaign ends September 30. A panel of photography experts will then evaluate the best entries and shortlisted entries will be used to illustrate relevant Wikipedia articles.
