American actor Lucile Ball was three-years-old when her father passed away. On the day he died, a bird flew into her house and was trapped. Ball was so traumatised by the events, she developed a lifelong fear of birds. The actor was so afraid of the creatures that she refused to stay in hotels that had photos or paintings of birds on the wall thinking that something bad would occur.
2. Michael Jordan
Basketball legend Michael Jordan reportedly set the trend of wearing longer shorts during the game instead of mid-thigh ones. He did so as a way of covering up his North Carolina shorts which he always wore under his Chicago Bulls uniform for good luck.
3. Charles Dickens
Author Charles Dickens carried a navigational compass with him at all times. He also always faced north while sleeping because he thought it would increase his creativity and writing.
4. John Wayne
In most of his films, actor and film-maker John Wayne often wore a hat on his head. However, he would get furious if anyone left one on his bed. His daughter said that Wayne was very superstitious and thought that having a hat placed on a bed would bring bad luck.
5. Diane von Furstenberg
World famous fashion designer Diane von Furstenberg, without fail, tapes a gold 20-franc coin in her shoe for good luck before every runway show. It's reported that her father used to hide the same coin in his shoe during World War II and gave it to Diane when she was just a little girl.
6. Jennifer Aniston
Friends star Jennifer Aniston revealed that she has a pre-flight ritual. She said, "If I walk on to an airplane, I always have to go on with my right foot first and tap the outside of the plane. I have always done it for luck."
7. Taylor Swift
While most consider the number 13 to be very unlucky, it's proved to bring happiness to Taylor Swift. In 2009, Swift stated, "I was born on the 13th. I turned 13 on Friday the 13th. My first album went gold in 13 weeks. My first No. 1 song had a 13-second intro. Every time I've won an award, I've been seated in either the 13th seat, the 13th row, the 13th section or row M, which is the 13th letter."
