Afridi’s departure (III)
This loss is not only a loss to Pakistani cricket but also the whole cricketing world.
NEW DELHI:
Through your newspaper I would like to express my sentiments on the premature retirement of Shahid ‘Boom Boom’ Afridi from cricket. This loss is not only a loss to Pakistani cricket but also the whole cricketing world.
He is an outstanding player and has fans all over the world. When Imran Khan retired from international cricket, if I am not wrong, the late president Ziaul Haq appealed to him to reconsider his decision — and he did and guided Pakistan to the World Cup in 1992.
I request Afridi to reconsider his decision because he has fans all over the world and they want him to keep on playing.
