A woman has died after being attacked with acid in Gojra, Express News reported.

The husband of the deceased and her two children were injured in the attack that transpired in Gojra Saddar 92-JB. Relatives of the deceased said the suspect, a neighbour, forcibly entered the house and threw acid on the fast asleep family.

They said they had a longstanding dispute with the man. The woman reportedly died on the spot. Her husband and children were taken to Faisalabad's Allied Hospital after.


Doctors at the facility said the condition of the children was critical. They said the attack had left the husband's eyes severely affected.

Police said the body of the deceased had been sent to a mortuary for autopsy. The force said no arrests had been made in connection with the incident.

In a separate August incident, two men were attacked with acid in Rahim Yar Khan.

Police told Express News victim Khalil Ahmed, a resident of Basti Iqbal Dhandoo in Ahmedpur claimed he was on his way home with one Waseem on a motorcycle when they were attacked.
