Regional Cooperation: Khar meets Russia’s Afghan envoy
Khar stressed that Pakistan was committed to a stable and peaceful Afghanistan
ISLAMABAD:
State Minister for Foreign Affairs Hina Rabbani Khar and Russian Special Representative for Afghanistan Zamir Kabulov reviewed bilateral relations at a meeting at the Foreign Office on Tuesday. Khar and Kabulov discussed President Zardari’s recent visit to Russia and agreed that it had helped promote greater understanding and strengthen bilateral ties. They also discussed the regional security situation, including Afghanistan, and the importance both Pakistan and Russia attached to close cooperation on issues of stability, peace and security in the region. Khar stressed that Pakistan was committed to a stable and peaceful Afghanistan and that it would continue to play its role to achieve this objective.
