The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Provincial Disaster Management Authority’s (PDMA) flood warning cell will begin functioning today. The cell, located at the PDMA’s office, is responsible for closely monitoring water levels of rivers in the province and alert the relevant authorities. Sources said the PDMA has sent a letter to the chief minister requesting for not only emergency funds but also equipment for emergency operations.
