RAWALPINDI:
Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has demolished under construction building and sealed  booking office of an illegal private housing scheme namely on Chakri Road, Rawalpindi.

RDA Metropolitan Planning and Traffic Engineering (MPTE) Director Jamshaid Aftab directed Building Control’s staff to conduct an operation against illegal construction of Blue World City’s booking office. MPTE Staff including Scheme Superintendent, Scheme Inspector and others carried out the operation at Saddar Rawalpindi and demolished under construction buildings and sealed the booking office of the illegal housing scheme.

It is important to mention here that police staff of concerned police station did not provide protection to RDA’s MPTE staff which carried out the operation. In this regard, MPTE Director has sent a letter to Rawalpindi DPO.

The owners of the property were running booking offices of the illegal housing scheme in violation of Punjab Private Housing schemes and Land Subdivision Rules 2010. RDA advised the general public against making any investment in any unauthorised housing scheme or building project which is declared as having an illegal status by RDA. Otherwise, they themselves are responsible for their losses.

RDA spokesman Hafiz Muhammad Irfan said RDA Director General Rana Akbar Hayat has directed the MPTE Directorate to take strict action against illegal constructions, booking offices and commercial activities without any fear and favour.
