Chanel introduces three-product makeup range for men
Collection will be available online starting November 2018
French fashion company Chanel has launched a men's makeup line. The luxury brand has kicked off the range with three products including an eyebrow pencil and tinted foundation (both available in four colours) as well as a matte moisturising lip balm, reported Forbes.
South Korea is the first to witness the collection's sale which started September 1, while the rest of the world will be able to get their hands on it once it's available online from November. The range will hit Chanel stores starting January 2019.

Kristine Kim, PR/Communications Manager for Chanel in Korea explains the inspiration behind the line and how the legacy of the brand was founded upon challenging the status quo and societal norms. "For Chanel, beauty is not a matter of gender; it is a matter of style."
The brand’s men franchise, Boy de Chanel is named after lover and muse of Coco Chanel, Boy Capel. “Just as Gabrielle Chanel borrowed elements from the men’s wardrobe to dress women, Chanel draws inspiration from the women’s world to write the vocabulary of a new personal aesthetic for men," read the brand's statement.
According to a report in Vogue, Korean actor Lee Dong-wook has been chosen as the face of the campaign. This, however, is not the first time a premier makeup brand has launched its products for men.
PLBW 2018 Day 2: New concepts, new cuts and new inspirations
Tom Ford was a notable early pioneer and released male cosmetics in 2013. Although we are yet to see how customer's receive this new range, it would also be interesting to see how many other brands follow in their footsteps.
