Rookie Criminals: Kidnappers use own phone for call

Two suspected kidnappers confessed and returned the ransom money.

LAHORE:
Two suspected kidnappers have confessed and returned the ransom they collected for the safe release of an eight-year-old boy, police said on Tuesday. The police were able to identify Akbar Shah and Arshad Hussain after they called the father of the boy asking for a ransom of Rs200,000 using a mobile phone registered to one of them. “They were not very experienced as they were using their own phones,” said SP (Investigation) Amin Bukhari. They were easy to trace and arrest, he said. He added that two more suspects were still at large but would be found soon. Hussain said that this was his first criminal offence.
