He maintained that after the wedlock, the couple had a son Shazil. However, the DSP said that Manzoor Qadir did not like Rubina and would force his wife to send the girl to her in-laws home. He said Qadir was unable to take responsibility of his step-daughter and bear her expenses.
He said that the accused often used to quarrel and had arguments with Shamreezah Bibi over the matter.
Mushtaq pointed out, “On the day of the incident, when Manzoor came home from work he saw Rubina making noise. At this, he got enraged and started beating the girl with a stick.”
The police official revealed that the victim suffered critical injuries on her head and back. “When her condition deteriorated, the brothers of the accused Noor and Muhammad Nawaz took the girl to Civil Hospital for treatment,” he said. Later, the girl succumbed to injuries and died at the hospital.
DSP Qaiser Mushtaq transpired that the accused and his brothers registered a fake name of the victim at the hospital to save themselves from the murder. He said the culprits took the victim’s body home and buried it in a room.
However, he said when Shamreezah knew about her daughter’s death, she raised a hue and cry. “The accused tried to calm her down but in vain. This enraged Manzoor and his brothers and they took the woman to an undisclosed location within Garh police area and murdered her,” he disclosed.
He said the accused dumped Shamreezah’s body in the fields and fled the scene.
The police registered a case against the culprits under sections 302, 201 and 34 on the complaint of deceased’s grandfather Zulfikar Ali.
