Actor spoke of the challenges faced by females in India

Bollywood star Kangana Ranaut is known for speaking her mind. At a conference held in Delhi on September 5, the 31-year-old once again shed light on some of the challenges faced by women in India, reported Pinkvilla.

Kangana said, "I think everybody knows their own challenges. The roles have changed drastically and women who are in the position of power find it very hard around men. And that's because men are not used to women being in power. They get bullied, harassed and threatened."

The Queen star also discussed equal pay for both genders. She added, "The state of women in India is still in a bad shape as we are still struggling with very primitive things such as equal rights, equal pay or equal work."

Kangana slams Sonu Sood's walkout from 'Manikarnika', says he opposed female director

Earlier last week, Kangana was caught in a row with Sonu Sood after the latter walked out from Manikarnika: Queen of Jhansi. She had stated, "Sonu refused to work under a woman director. Even though the team suggested that they have full faith in me, it seems that Sonu had neither dates nor faith."
