The devices were sold between September 2017 and March 2018
Apple has launched a free repair program for some iPhone 8 devices that contain manufacturing defects.
Affected devices that may experience unexpected restarts, frozen screens or the ones that would just not start are being offered by Apple for a free of charge eligible repair.

The devices were sold between September 2017 and March 2018 in China, Hong Kong, Japan, India, Macau, New Zealand, Australia and the US.
If your iPhone 8 has a manufacturing default you can check from the official website to see if your device qualifies for a repair.

You can make an appointment at one of the Apple retail stores or an authorised service provider. Any other faults are not eligible under this program.
Apple does reserve the right to “restrict or limit repair to the original country or region of purchase” and not extend the standard warranty coverage of iPhone 8.
