“The suspects took both of the victims to the outskirts of the city, promising to pay them a significant amount of money for the journey,” he added. He maintained that after reaching an isolated place, the accused covered their faces with a piece of cloth and strangled them with rope.

The DSP pointed out that after murdering the victims, the culprits buried their bodies in a ditch and fled with the motorcycle rickshaws.

He said the accused used to sell motorcycle rickshaws after stealing them. “Both of the suspects are involved in a number of criminal activities,” Jamshed Ali said.

He said that during interrogation, the accused confessed to murdering the two men and also pointed police towards the bodies of the victims, which officials later recovered.

Meanwhile, fathers of the victims, Shabbir Ahmed and Jahangir Khokhar, said that their sons were the sole bread earners of their families.

They demanded authorities hang the criminals and provide them with justice.
