Veteran Bollywood star Raveena Tandon has recently shared her stance on joining politics. Despite good offers from BJP, Congress and Trinamool Congress the Dulhe Raja actor decided to give them a miss, reported Hindustan Times.

On being one of the few celebrities who voice their opinions, the actor quipped, “Yes I’m upfront and honest. When I decided to adopt two daughters at a very young age, I was sure that I wanted to do it. Similarly, when I support a cause, I am very clear about what I say.”

She continued, “That’s the reason I don’t want to take up politics or join any party at this point even though I have been offered tickets by several parties, including the Congress, BJP and TMC. I was also offered a ticket from Kolkata, but knowing myself, I will always call a spade a spade and no one can change my thought process. So I’m better off not being associated with any political party. But you never know what the future holds. Someday I may become a part of politics,” she said.

On women’s empowerment, she spoke of Mumbai’s lower-middle class working women. “I have always believed that in order to have a balanced society, we need to empower our women. I don’t believe in dividing the society into various strata, but I would like to give an example of Mumbai’s lower-middle class working women. Those who wake up early every morning, fulfill their household chores, leave for work in a local, slog at their respective jobs, return home in the evening, then cook for the family and sit with their kids and help them with home work. The next morning, they wake up and start all over again. They are the real Indian women for me.”
