ISLAMABAD: Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Najeebur Rehman Bugvi has been transferred from the ICT Police to Punjab. Bugvi was posted SSP-Operations in the capital on January 18 this year. He had replaced SSP Sajid Kiani, who after serving in the capital police for almost 10 years, was transferred to the Intelligence Bureau. However, after a short stint of around seven months, Bugvi has been transferred. Reshuffle of key posts in the capital administration including the chief commissioner, the deputy commissioner, inspector general, and SSP-Operations was likely after the formation of the new government but so far only Bugvi’s transfer has been notified. A notification in this regard was issued by the Establishment Division on Friday. However, the officer has not relinquished the charge and no replacement has been announced yet. Sources said the police were trying to retain the officer and had also approached the Interior Ministry in this connection.
