Twitter users quickly ensured United States President Donald Trump's past comments did not escape public attention after he pledged support for Republican Senator and one-time rival Ted Cruz.
Trump tweeted on Friday that he would organise an October rally for Cruz at the "biggest stadium in Texas" in connection with the upcoming November 8 midterm elections.
Cruz, who frequently traded barbs with Trump during 2016 Republican presidential primaries, welcomed the latter's endorsement.
