Work on Mohmand Expressway reviewed
The Peshawar Corps Commander Lt Gen Nazir Ahmad Butt visited Mohmand district on Friday
SHABQADAR:
The Peshawar Corps Commander Lt Gen Nazir Ahmad Butt visited Mohmand district on Friday to inspect the progress made on the Ghallanai-Mamad Ghat Expressway.
The 43km-long expressway includes the 800-metre long Nahakki tunnel and is part of the Peshawar-Bajaur highway.
While work on the expressway continues, the tunnel had been inaugurated by the army chief in September 2017. The project is being executed by the FWO and is in the final stages of completion with work continuing at a rapid pace on bridges and applying a final layer of asphalt on the road along with putting up road signs guard rails.
The speed of construction was enhanced in July with work starting in a night shift with additional men and machinery deployed by the FWO.
