Iran to gift study on coal energy production
Assistance in alternative electricity also offered.
LAHORE:
Iran intends to work in close collaboration with Pakistan for economic development of the region and will present the Iranian study on production of coal energy as a gift to the people of Punjab, said Khorasan province Governor Dr Mahmoud Salahi.
He said this while speaking at the inaugural session of Pakistan-Iran Investment and Trade Business Forum, 60 government and private sector officials from Iran met with leading CEOs and government officials from Pakistan.
Salahi added that Khorasan can help Punjab in producing electricity from water, coal, wind and solar options and expressed the hope that the industrial exchange programme between Punjab and Khorasan would help promote trade relations between them.
He said that trade volume between the two countries is currently about $1.3 billion but the real potential is no less than $1.5 billion if trade and non-trade barriers are eliminated.
