Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources Ghulam Sarwar Khan said on Tuesday that the government would complete the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (Tapi) gas pipeline project during its tenure. Responding to the question of Senator Chaudhary Tanvir Khan, he recalled that a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Turkmenistan and Pakistan for further cooperation in the fields of fuel and energy was signed on March 16, 2017. “The MoU is valid for five years,” he said. “It envisages multiple areas of mutual cooperation including LPG, oil and gas.” This cooperation may include exchange of experience and participation in establishment of oil and gas installations as well as the import of liquefied natural gas from Turkmenistan.
