Lawmakers state that the Assembly condemns cartoon contest
PESHAWAR:
A Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) lawmaker on Monday filed a resolution in the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Assembly against a sacrilegious cartoon contest taking place in The Netherlands.
PPP lawmaker Nighat Orakzai submitted the resolution in assembly secretariat on Monday in which she has stated that the house condemns the cartoon contest set up by a member of parliament in the Netherlands to draw the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) which has hurt the sentiments of millions of muslims around the world.
She has demanded that the federal government expel the Dutch Ambassador from Pakistan in protest and also the government should inform the Dutch government that the contest has not only hurt the feelings and sentiments of millions of muslims but will also have negative impact on the economy of the Netherlands as people around the world have started the boycott of Dutch products.
