PTI's Maliha Asghar Khan among most affluent in K-P Assembly
K-P Assembly's richest, poorest women MPs belong to PTI

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) member of provincial assembly (MPA) on women reserved seat Maliha Asghar Khan is one of the richest women members of the Khyber- Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) assembly having millions of assets while Asia Khattak of the same party is one of the poorest members.
According to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) the members have declared their assets and liabilities. PTI MPA Maliha Asghar Khan from district Mansehra has declared above Rs900 million in her documents submitted to ECP. On the other hand an MPA of the same party Aasia Khattak has declared nothing in her accounts, making her one of the poorest members of the provincial assembly on women’s reserved seats.
Belonging to a political family of Mansehra, Maliha remained active in politics from student life, while she also worked as a teacher at the primary level and then went on to set up her own schools in her home district.
She completed her Bachelors of Art (BA) in Psychology and Political Science from the Federal College, for Women, Rawalpindi 1993 and became an MPA on women reserved seat in 2013.
She has set up five schools in Mansehra over a period of four years which are providing education to almost 2,000 students.
On the other hand Aasia Khattak is one of the poorest MPAs on women’s reserved seats. She has declared that she has no assets to her name.
Aasia Khattak has done her Masters in international relations and also completed her LLB from University of Peshawar. She was elected PTI Peshawar district consular in local body election in 2015.
Following Maliha Asghar Khan in the list of richest members of provincial assembly on women reserved seats another PTI MPA Aisha Bano having Rs50 million cash in her account, 150 tola gold and a precious diamond, while Pakistan People Party (PPP) MPA Nighat Orakzai has declared 280 tola gold in her assets.
Similarly, Awami National Party (ANP) MPA on reserved seat Shagufta Malik has declared Rs4.5 million assets in her documents submitted to ECP.
