Police arrested 74 for violating the ban on one-wheeling and swimming in the sea

KARACHI: Police presented 74 citizens, arrested for violating the ban on one-wheeling and swimming in the sea, before judicial magistrates on Friday.

Sessions judges deployed judicial magistrates on special duty during Eid holidays and all police stations in Karachi were notified. On this occasion, family members of the arrested also reached court.

A total of 42 citizens were arrested from the limits of District South police stations and presented before the South Judicial Magistrate's court. Citizens apologised in court and gave assurance that they will not commit such violations again.

The court warned their family members to keep an eye on their children and released them on personal bonds.

Police arrest six drug peddlers

Meanwhile, 32 citizens were arrested from Hawke's Bay and produced before the District West judicial magistrate. Police told court that the Sindh government had imposed section 144 on one-wheeling and swimming in the sea and that the Sindh chief minister had ordered strict action against the violators. However, the accused were released.

Meanwhile, police arrested 52 suspects for different crimes, including murder, attempted murder, unintentional murder, smuggling of drugs, kidnapping, robbery and possession of arms. The police produced them in the district and sessions courts to obtain their physical remand. Of the total, 22 accused were released on personal bonds.
