Malik announces amnesty for young Taliban
Interior minister urges Taliban to stop terrorist activities and to help govt in strengthening the country.

Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik announced amnesty for young Taliban who renounce violence and urged them to give up suicide bombing and other terrorist activities and help the government strengthen the country.
Addressing a Pakistan Peoples Party Youth Convention in Islamabad, the interior minister asked the participants if it was right to pray for the terrorists who have destroyed the national assets and slammed those who led funeral prayers for the al Qaeda leader Osama Bin Laden who was killed in a US raid in Abbottabad.
Malik also said he had prepared a summary regarding the provision of civil defence training to 25,000 youth on the President's orders.
Federal Information Minister Firdous Ashiq Awan, Jehangir Badar, Federal Minister Maula Bukhsh Chandio, Sharmila Farooqi, Imtiaz Safdar Warraich and other PPP leaders also addressed the convention.
The participants of the meeting also passed a resolution reposing confidence in the leadership of President Asif Ali Zardari.
