Bollywood superstars Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar have successfully made it to 2018’s Forbes‘ list of World’s Highest-Paid Actors. While Hollywood star George Clooney topped the list, Akshay and Salman ranked seven and nine, respectively. King of Romance Shah Rukh Khan who was always a name on the list failed to make it this year, reported Hindustan Times.
The list also mentioned that Akshay made $40.5 million while Salman earned $38.5 million. The two were also amongst Forbes’ list of top 100 entertainers of 2018 which was announced last month. Akshay was at the 76th spot while the Dabangg actor secured his position at 82.
Forbes’ also spoke of the Khiladi actor as “one of Bollywood’s leading men” who has worked on socially-relevant films such as Toilet: Ek Prem Katha and Padman. Mentioning Salman, the list stated, “This Bollywood mainstay continues to produce and star in hits such as Tiger Zinda Hai, cashing in on back-end profits. Coupled with a slew of endorsements from Suzuki motorcycles to Chlormint gum, he remains one of India’s top earners.”
Despite not starring in any films this year, George still ranked first mainly due to the success of his businesses making a total of $239 million. Dwayne Johnson came second with $125 million followed by Avengers stars Robert Downey Jr and Chris Hemsworth who made $81 million and $64.5 million, respectively. Earning a total of $45.5 million, Jackie Chan secured the fifth position followed by Will Smith’s $42 million.
