"The main accused has been identified as Seetaram [Kolhi] who is the husband of a lady health worker, Reena. He is still at large," Tharparkar SSP Imran Qureshi told The Express Tribune.

The SSP, however, did not disclose the reason for the murder. The police have arrested two relatives of Kolhi and seized the motorcycle Kolhi was riding at the time of the incident. An FIR has yet to be registered.

Chandar Sharma, the PPP's worker and personal secretary of MNA Mahesh Kumar Malani, was shot dead on Saturday at his friend's shop near Sadiq Faqeer ground. The assailant, though he managed to escape after the incident, was identified by Sharma's friend Nawaz Baghi, who is said to be an eye witness.

The PPP's leadership condemned the incident and in their initial statements, perceived a conspiracy behind the killing, which aimed to destroy peace in the desert region.
