SHC seeks replies on petition to transfer Naqeebullah murder case
Court orders medical examination of Nisar Morai

The Sindh High Court (SHC) sought on Monday replies by September 3 from the relevant parties on an application regarding the transfer of Naqeebullah murder case from the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) No 2 to another court.
A two-member bench heard the plea. However, the hearing had to be adjourned due to the absence of applicant's lawyer, Faisal Siddiqui. The Sindh prosecutor-general also did not submit his response on the petition despite earlier notice.
It was maintained in the plea that the father of the slain Naqeebullah was not satisfied with the ATC judge. It was claimed that the judge was biased in favour of suspects. The applicant requested the SHC to stop the judge from holding further proceedings and transfer the case to another court.

In the meantime, jirga leaders staged a protest outside the SHC against SSP Rao Anwar's release on bail and him being permitted to travel out of the city. The protesters held banners with pictures of SSP Anwar and shouted slogans against him.
Morai's check-up
The SHC also ordered the jail authorities for medical examination of Nisar Morai, former chairperson of the Fishermen's Cooperative Society allegedly involved in corruption, from Aga Khan University Hospital and present its report by August 30.
A two-member bench heard the matter. The applicant's lawyer, Rasheed A Razvi, maintained that his client was seriously ill. The court was informed that a few days ago, Morai's blood sugar level had exceeded 600 milligrammes per decilitre after which he had to be shifted to Jinnah hospital. However, he was later sent back to jail.
The lawyer argued that illnesses were posing serious threats to Morai's life and he should be either granted bail on medical grounds or shifted to a hospital.

JJVL corruption case
The SHC also granted permission to a co-accused in the Rs17 billion corruption case of Jamshoro Joint Venture Limited (JJVL) to visit abroad.
A two-member bench heard the plea of former Sui Southern Gas Company managing director Zubair Siddiqui who is a co-accused in the case. A counsel for the applicant, Advocate Mehmood Alam Rizvi, informed the court that his client wanted to travel to London for his wife's medical treatment.
Approving the request, the SHC granted permission to Siddiqui to go abroad.
