ISLAMABAD:
The police are investigating the death of a woman who reportedly fell from the third floor of an apartment building in Sector E-11 early on Monday morning and died while being treated at the hospital.

The woman, identified as 28-year-old SG*, had reportedly visited Khudadad Heights accompanied by another woman* in the early hours of Monday.

“I heard her scream and when I went to see what had happened, I found her [SG] lying on her back. Her right arm had been fractured and maybe her spine was also damaged,” said the woman who was accompanying SG to the building.

The other woman rushed SG to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims) for treatment but she succumbed to her injuries.

“Either she accidentally fell or was pushed,” a police officer said, suspecting that both women were involved in a base trade. The officer added that closed circuit television (CCTV) cameras installed at the building showed SG and her companion enter the complex at around 3:30am. She fell around three hours later and was rushed to the hospital at around 6:30am

“A bottle of liquor was also found on the terrace from which she fell,” the officer added.

When the police checked the apartment records, they found that the apartment the victim had apparently visited was owned by a woman and had been rented by a Somali national.

“We do not know who those people are. The flat has been locked since morning,” another officer said.

On Monday afternoon, the victim’s mother and paternal uncle reached Pims. They told police that they did not wish to press charges against anyone.

They further said that they did not want a post-mortem examination of the body.

The victim’s mother said that she had left her home in Multan some two years ago after her divorce. Meanwhile, another woman, identified as AY*, died after she allegedly ingested some pills.

“Reportedly she took pills while sitting in a park in Sector I-8/3 on Friday night and died at the Shifa International Hospitals on Saturday morning,” a homicide investigator said, adding that her family has not pressed charged against anyone.

The officer added the victim’s medical reports could establish the exact cause of death but they have been told that she had died after swallowing some kind of pills. Hailing from the hailed from Lodhran district in south Punjab, the victim used to work as a manager at a private company and lived in a hostel in Sector I-8.

In yet another homicide case, a sexagenarian man — who had been shot in the head last month — succumbed to his injuries on Monday.

Taxila native Raja Ashraf had been found lying critically injured in his car with a bullet wound to his head on July 18 in Sector G-14.

Police said they had found a licenced pistol lying by his feet and an empty bullet casing nearby.
