Saddar’s tyre market shopkeepers took to the streets again on Saturday to protest against the extortion ‘mafia’. They were joined by the traders from the timber, paper and Aurangzaib markets. These shopkeepers had also protested on Friday when they blocked MA Jinnah Road. They complained that at least three armed men, one of who had a hand grenade, demanded up to Rs70,000 as extortion and warned them of dire consequences if they failed to pay. Meanwhile, Aram Bagh SHO Mohammad Shahbaz said that the shopkeepers are staging protests for media coverage. O
