Rains and thundershowers coupled with gusty winds are expected in isolated areas in Punjab, including the provincial capital, during the next 24 hours.
On Saturday, the maximum temperature in the provincial capital was recorded at 37 degrees Celsius.
Second phase of monsoon from July 20
According to the Met office, rains and thundershowers along with gusty winds are expected at isolated places in Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Sargodha, Lahore, and Kashmir.
According to the synoptic situation, the seasonal low lies over north Balochistan. Monsoon currents are reaching the upper parts of the country. However, rain and thundershowers with gusty winds occurred at isolated places in Rawalpindi, Gujranwala divisions, Islamabad and Kashmir.
Rain emergency plan reviewed in Karachi
Rainfall in millimetres during the past 24 hours: Sialkot 30, Gujanwala 25, Rawalpindi (Shamsabad 06, Chaklala 04), Mandi Bahudin 04 and Gujrat 03.
Meanwhile, farmers have been advised to take all the necessary measures to protect their standing crops.
