Hundreds of students thronged the 20 stalls set up by the public and private institutions from across the country to get information that would help them further their career goals.
Express Education and Career Expo 2018 aims to bridge gap between varsities, students
PHEC Director Dr Shahid Saroya, who was the special guest at the event, said that there is a dire need to promote higher education in the right direction. The Express Media Group has turned HEC's dream of counselling of young generation into reality by organising this event, he added.
A student, Asma Faisal, said that this facility under one roof is a blessing for students who cannot go to every university to get information.
Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC) Chairman Dr Nizamuddin inaugurated the expo on Friday in a hotel. He said that there was no dearth of talent in the country. He appreciated the Express Media group's efforts and said that such events should be organised frequently to facilitate students and their parents.
Mayor Karachi stresses on academic activities
During the two-day event, counselors from various varsities and institutions offered guidance to students on how to address issues they faced in receiving higher education.
The initiative received an overwhelming response from students as well as their parents. They got all information relating to higher education such as courses and programmes, scholarship opportunities and career guidance.
